Feeling a little isolated?
Even though we’re surrounded by people every day, many of us experience loneliness. Regardless of the cause, extended feelings of isolation can be a real problem. It affects your ability to think and sleep well. If it goes on long enough, you may even start seeing some adverse health effects.
Luckily, there’s an app for that.
It can be tough in our busy lives to make friends as adults. These six apps make it easier to locate people with your interests so you can start building meaningful friendships.
Bumble BFF
While the Bumble app is thought to be primarily for dating, you’ll find there’s a whole section devoted to finding your new BFF. This app works much like its dating counterpart where you create an account and then view other profiles. Like what you see? Plan to meet.
Friender
Friender matches you through your interests and works a lot like Tinder in the way you swipe to show your interest in other people. What makes it helpful is the ability to create events.
The League
Serious about what you do? So is everyone else on The League. Meet with people who have similar goals in life. The strength of this app is in the careful vetting process and the knowledge that everyone here really means business.
Hey! VINA!
This one is strictly for the females in the audience. Hey! Vina is about finding support, regardless of where you are in life. This is one of the more flexible apps, which offers other fun features like articles and quizzes that keep things fresh and exciting.
REALU
Forget social media meetups. This one is all about connecting real-time in real life. Using this app puts you in touch with people with similar interests in your area. The app is only there to get you started. The goal here is ironically to meet and be unplugged when you do.
Meet My Dog
Want to include your pup on your outing? This app matches you with other dog owners in your area, so even your dog gets a playdate.

**NOTE**
Apps are great ways to get to know people who live in your neighborhood that you might not ordinarily meet but remember to use caution when meeting new people. Always arrange meetings in well-lit public areas with other people around. Trust your instincts; if something doesn’t feel right, don’t be afraid to walk away. Use sites like Truthfinder to check out individuals before the meeting. Full disclosure – At the time of this writing I have not tried any of these apps but it’s good to know they are out there if I need them.

Remove The Happy Mask And Reveal Your Authentic True Self
Most of us wear a happy mask. We put on a happy face for the world, even when we’re not feeling happy on the inside. We do this because we want to be accepted, we want to be liked, and we want to be happy and we don't want others to be uncomfortable. But what if we...
